New Driveway and Gated Entry

A finished textured and colored concrete driveway running from a gated entry up to a new two-story home

The Challenge

A new build with no approach at all — bare graded dirt from the road gate to the front of the house. The whole run had to be cut, formed and poured as one continuous surface, wide enough at the gate for two vehicles to pass.

The Approach

  1. 01

    Excavated

Cut and graded the full approach, from the road gate up to the house.

  2. 02

    Formed

Forms and string lines set for the long straight run and the wide apron at the gate, where the surface has to meet the road level.

  3. 03

    Reinforced

Steel laid through the drive before any concrete went down.

  4. 04

    Poured

Poured in sections so each one could be worked while it was ready.

  5. 05

    Finished

Textured and colored, with the joints laid out to the panel lines rather than cut wherever they landed.

The Result

Straight off the road, all the way to the door.
